About
Who we are and what we do
The New Forest History & Archaeology Group (NFHAG) was formed in 2006 to promote archaeological and historical research and recording in the New Forest. It took over seamlessly and with the same officers from the New Forest Section (founded 1960) of the Hampshire Field Club. This independence enabled considerable expansion of local research and publication that continues to the present day.
It is an active society for research into the past of this unique and fascinating region. It has a fieldwork programme of site survey and excavation, together with regular talks that held at Lyndhurst, on topics of New Forest and regional interest. Registered Charity No. 1160219.
